THE COLLECTIONS AND EXHIBITIONS DEPARTMENT ACQUIRES, PRESERVES AND MAINTAINS RARE ARTIFACTS, DOCUMENTS, AND MATERIALS THAT NOT ONLY TELL THE STORY OF THE HOLOCAUST BUT ALSO PREVENT OTHERS FROM FALSIFYING ITS SCOPE, MAGNITUDE, AND SIGNIFICANCE; MONITORS THE FACILITIES TO HELP PRESERVE HISTORICAL MATERIALS; AND RESEARCHES AND DEVELOPS EXHIBITIONS. THE DEPARTMENT COORDINATES ALL LOGISTICS AND PLANNING FOR THE MUSEUM'S OWN TRAVELING EXHIBITIONS AS WELL ASTHOSE THAT TRAVEL FROM OTHER INSTITUTIONS.
EDUCATION DEPARTMENT: THE MUSEUM OF JEWISH HERITAGE HAS HELPED TO EDUCATE MORE THAN 811,000 SCHOOL CHILDREN THROUGH CURRICULA, TOURS, CLASSROOM MATERIALS, AND ONLINE EXHIBITIONS. THE MUSEUM OFFERS PROFESSIONAL RESOURCES FOR EDUCATORS WHO TEACH ABOUT THE HOLOCAUST AND MODERN JEWISH HISTORY IN SUPPORT OF STUDENTS IN GRADES 3 THROUGH 12. EACH YEAR, NEARLY 60,000 STUDENTS FROM PUBLIC AND INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS ARE WELCOMED TO THE MUSEUM.
