PROMOTE THE WELFARE AND ADVANCEMENT OF NEW MEXICOS COMMUNITY AND TECHNICAL COLLEGES AND TO FOSTER THE CONCEPTS OF COMMUNITY COLLEGE EDUCATION.

THE FOLLOWING EVENT WAS PLACED ON HOLD DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC - HOST ALL-NEW MEXICO ACADEMIC TEAM. EACH TWO-YEAR COLLEGE IN NEW MEXICO MAY NOMINATE TWO STUDENTS PER CAMPUS TO THE ALL-USA ACADEMIC TEAM. STUDENTS FROM NEW MEXICO NOMINATED TO THE NATIONAL TEAM COMPRISE THE ALL-NEW MEXICO ACADEMIC TEAM. NOMINATIONS ARE BASED ON OUTSTANDING ACADEMIC PERFORMANCE AND SERVICE TO THE COLLEGE AND COMMUNITY. PHI THETA KAPPA, TWO YEAR COLLEGE PRESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE ASSOCIATIONS CO-SPONSOR THE ALL-STATE RECOGNITION PROGRAM HELD IN THE STATE CAPITAL WITH LEGISLATORS AND HIGHER EDUCATION LEADERS.


THE NEW MEXICO ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES GENERALLY HOSTS A LEGISLATIVE DINNER ANNUALLY TO EDUCATE AND INFORM NEW MEXICO'S LEGISLATORS AND THEIR STAFF ON NEW MEXICO'S COLLEGE ISSUES. THIS WAS DELAYED FOR THIS FISCAL YEAR.
