THE ORGANIZATION IS AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION THAT ENGAGES IN MANY VARIED PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT THE SCHOOL IN PROVIDING STUDENTS WITH AN EXCEPTIONAL LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND FOSTER INTELLECTUAL GROWTH. THE PTO ENCOURAGES PARENTS TO ASSIST WITH VARIOUS SCHOOL ACTIVITIES / FUNCTIONS /SERVICES, AND TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WHERE NEEDS ARE IDENTIFIED WITHIN THE SCHOOL.AMONG OTHER VARIED ACTIVITIES, THE BARBARA BENSON ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PTO:1. PROVIDES FUNDING FOR THE TK-STH GRADE MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM, INCLUDING THE ANNUAL FIELD TRIP TO THE PACIFICSYMPHONY ORCHESTRA.2. PROVIDE PARTIAL FUNDING FOR THE SCHOOL':, PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND RELATED PROGRAM COSTS.3. ACQUIRE, INSTALL AND MAINTAIN THE SCHOOL'S PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT.4.
