DSAB HAS TWO PRIMARY FUNDRAISERS EACH YEAR: THE ANNUAL BREVARD BUDDY WALK, OUR PRIMARY FUNDRAISER, WHICH WAS HELD IN NOVEMBER 2022. WE ADDED A SECONDARY FUNDRAISER IN 2022: THE DOWN FOR DERBY GALA, WHICH WAS HELD IN MARCH 2022. GRANTS MADE IN 2022 PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO 18 INDIVIDUALS AND THEIR FAMILIES. USE OF FUNDS INCLUDED SUMMER CAMP FEES, HORSE THERAPY, AND GUARDIANSHIP COST ASSISTANCE. THE ORGANIZATION CONTINUES TO PROVIDE ALL BREVARD COUNTY HOSPITALS WITH NEW PARENT DOWN SYDROME INFORMATION PACKETS TO ENSURE NEW PARENTS HAVE IMMEDIATE ACCESS TO LOCAL RESOURCES. THE ORGANIZATION ALSO ORGANIZED MORE THAN A DOZEN DIFFERENT EVENTS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES, SOME OF WHICH NOW OCCUR ON A WEEKLY OR MONTHLY BASIS.
