THE REDS COMMUNITY FUND IS DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE LIVES OF YOUTHS BY LEVERAGING THE TRADITION OF THE CINCINNATI REDS AND THE GAME OF BASEBALL.

THE P&G MLB CINCINNATI REDS YOUTH ACADEMY WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2009 AND OPERATED FOR FIVE YEARS AT A TEMPORARY LOCATION IN CONJUNCTION WITH CINCINNATI PUBLIC SCHOOLS. THE INDOOR TRAINING FACILITY IN ROSELAWN (OPENED IN 2014) HOSTS FREE, YEAR-ROUND BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL INSTRUCTION ALONG WITH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING. PROGRAM GOALS INCLUDE INCREASING PARTICIPATION AND INTEREST IN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL, ENCOURAGING ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AND EMPHASIZING GOOD CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.
THE REDS COMMUNITY FUND'S FIELD RENOVATION PROGRAM UNDERWRITES THE EXPENSE FOR IMPROVEMENTS TO AREA YOUTH BASEBALL FIELDS THROUGHOUT REDS COUNTRY. UPGRADES INCLUDE NEW SOIL FOR THE INFIELDS, TURF UPGRADES IN THE OUTFIELDS, BACKSTOP REPAIRS, FENCING, DUGOUTS AND MORE. APPLICANTS WHO WISH TO RECEIVE FUNDING FOR A FIELD RENOVATION PROJECT MUST HAVE A SPECIFIC NEED AND COMPLETE AN ONLINE APPLICATION PROCESS PROVIDING INFORMATION ON THE PROJECT SUCH AS LOCATION, MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, SCOPE OF USE FOR EACH FIELD.
THE REDS COMMUNITY FUND YOUTH BASEBALL & SOFTBALL FUNDING INITIATIVE PROVIDES SUPPORT TO OVER 300 BOYS BASEBALL AND GIRLS SOFTBALL TEAMS. ORGANIZATIONS RECEIVE FUNDING TO PURCHASE UNIFORMS, EQUIPMENT AND COVER VARIOUS OPERATING EXPENSES. QUALIFYING ORGANIZATIONS MUST OPERATE IN "REDS COUNTRY," DEMONSTRATE FINANCIAL NEED, AND PARTICIPATE IN A MINIMUM OF THREE COMMUNITY SERVICE OR FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. SPECIFIC PROGRAMS THAT ARE SUPPORTED INCLUDE THE P&G MLB CINCINNATI REDS YOUTH ACADEMY, GREATER CINCINNATI KNOTHOLE, CINCINNATI PUBLIC SCHOOLS AND REVIVING BASEBALL IN INNER CITIES.
REVIVING BASEBALL IN INNER CITIES (RBI) IS A MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL YOUTH OUTREACH PROGRAM DESIGNED TO: - INCREASE PARTICIPATION AND INTEREST IN BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL AMONG UNDERSERVED YOUTH - PROMOTE GREATER INCLUSION OF YOUTH WITH DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS INTO THE MAINSTREAM OF THE GAME - INCREASE NUMBER OF TALENTED ATHLETES PREPARED TO PLAY IN COLLEGE AND PROFESSIONALLY - ENCOURAGE ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT, COMMUNITY SERVICE AND MODEL CITIZENSHIP - TEACH THE VALUE OF TEAMWORK
