DURING THE YEAR THE BRISTOL BAY HERITAGE LAND TRUST CONTINUED TO PURSUE MEASURES AND SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH TO PROTECT THE CONSERVATION VALUES OF LANDS AND WATERS OF BRISTOL BAY ALASKA. RESEARCH INCLUDED STREAM TEMPERATURE MONITORING, STREAM FLOW LEVELS, AND GATHERING BASELINE DATA ON FISH DISTRIBUTION, MACROINVERTEBRATES, DIATOMS, WATER QUALITY AND CHEMISTRY. THE BRISTOL BAY HERITAGE LAND TRUST CONTINUED TO PURSUE CONSERVATION PROTECTION THROUGH THE ACQUISITION OF CONSERVATION EASEMENTS OR FEE TITLE.


DURING THE YEAR THE BRISTOL BAY HERITAGE LAND TRUST CONTINUED TO SPONSOR EDUCATIONAL SERVICES THAT CREATE AWARENESS OF THE BRISTOL BAY REGION AND PROMOTE CONSERVATION IN THE BRISTOL BAY REGION. AMONG THESE SERVICES IS THE BRISTOL BAY FLY FISHING AND GUIDE ACADEMY THAT PROMOTES CONSERVATION WHILE PROVIDING YOUNG ADULTS EMPLOYABLE SKILLS IN THE RECREATIONAL FISHING COMMUNITY OF BRISTOL BAY.
