TO EMPOWER COMMUNITIES BY PROVIDING THEM WITH THE TOOLS, RESOURCES, CAPACITY, AND CONNECTIONS NECESSARY TO ADAPT TO THE CHANGING WORLD.

Part 3 - Line 4a

YAKIMA TRIBUTARY ACCESS AND HABITAT PROGRAM (YTAHP)FOCUSES ON SALMON, STEELHEAD, AND BULL TROUT RECOVERY IN THE YAKIMA BASIN. IT PROTECTS AND ENHANCES RIPARIAN AND FLOODPLAIN HABITATS, ASSISTS LANDOWNERS WITH BEST MANAGEMENT PRACTICES, AND SUPPORTS PROJECTS FOR FISH PASSAGE AND HABITAT RESTORATION. IN 2023, IT COMPLETED 4 PROJECTS, RESULTING IN RESTORED FISH PASSAGE TO 4.5 MILES OF TRIBUTARY HABITAT AND SCREENING 4.6 CFS OF DIVERTED SURFACE WATER.


COOPERATIVE FORESTRY ASSISTANCE AND COMMUNITY WILDFIRE RESILIENCE PROGRAMS SUSTAIN FOREST HEALTH AND PRODUCTIVITY. THE PROGRAM INCREASED WORKFORCE CAPACITY THROUGH PRESCRIBED FIRE TRAINING, COMPLETED WILDFIRE PROTECTION PLANNING, AND FACILITATED COMMUNITY WILDFIRE WORKSHOPS. IT PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO ENHANCE WILD AND PRESCRIBED FIRE OUTREACH, PLANNING, AND PROJECT DEVELOPMENT FOR LANDSCAPE AND COMMUNITY RESILIENCE.


FIRE ADAPT COMMUNITIES PROGRAM: SUPPORTS WASHINGTON COMMUNITIES IN WILDFIRE RESILIENCE. IT PROVIDED 19 TRAININGS AND HOSTED THREE WORKSHOPS ON WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY. WAFAC FOCUSED ON DEVELOPING WILDFIRE PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY TOOLKITS FOR LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS.
