SUPPORTING CHILD CARE PROGRAMS AND ORGANIZATIONS WITH COVID-19 RELIEF THROUGH CARES ACT FUNDS. FUNDING RECIPIENTS APPLY TO THE OHIO CHILD CARE RESOURCE & REFERRAL ASSOCIATION. EACH APPLICATION IS REVIEWED TO DETERMINE IF APPLICANT MEETS CRITERIA FOR ASSISTANCE DICTATED BY THE GRANTING ENTITY (OHIO JOB & FAMILY SERVICES). IN FYE2020, THE ASSOCIATION RECEIVED $57,063,547 IN CARES ACT PANDEMIC SUPPORT FUNDING AND DISTRIBUTED THESE FUNDS TO APPROVED SUB-RECIPIENT DAY CARE CENTERS, EARLY CHILD CARE CENTERS AND SCHOOLS.
IN DECEMBER 2020, CONGRESS PASSED THE CORONAVIRUS RESPONSE AND RELIEF SUPPLEMENTAL APPROPRIATIONS ACT OF 2021. THE ACT PROVIDED OHIO WITH FUNDING TO HELP SUPPORT PROFESSIONALS WITH THE PANDEMIC. AS A RESULT, ODJFS CREATED HERO PAY. THE HERO PAY INITIATIVE IS AVAILABLE TO CHILD CARE EMPLOYEES IN ODJFS LICENSED PROGRAMS WORKING IN INFANTS THROUGH SCHOOL-AGE CLASSROOMS.
TEACH EARLY CHILDHOOD OHIO-TEACH EARLY CHILDHOOD OHIO PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO TEACHERS AND FAMILY CHILD CARE PROVIDERS TO EARN DEGREES AND CREDENTIALS IN EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION.
