DIRECT SERVICES IN SHELTER: NEW DIRECTIONS OFFERS SAFE SHELTER TO ADULTS AND CHILDREN LEAVING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATIONS. THE SHELTER CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 8 INDIVIDUALS. RESIDENTS ARE PERMITTED TO STAY IN SHELTER AND MUST BE ACTIVELY WORKING ON SET GOALS.
EDUCATION: NEW DIRECTIONS OFFERS PREVENTION EDUCATION IN A VARIETY OF CONTEXTS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS AND FOCUS ON THE PREVENTION OF INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE. THIS WORK IS DONE IN LOCAL SCHOOLS, BUSINESSES, AND ORGANIZATIONS. DELTA IMPACT IS FOCUSED ON PREVENTION PROGRAMMING THAT INCLUDES THE TEEN ADVISORY COUNCIL AND WORKS PRIMARILY WITH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND COMMUNITY BUSINESSES. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS A PREVENTION ADVISORY COUNCIL THAT FOCUSES ON PREVENTION PROGRAMMING IN SCHOOLS AND IN THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES: NEW DIRECTIONS OPERATES A 24 HOUR HOTLINE TO RESPOND TO CRISIS CALLS FROM VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE AND SEXUAL VIOLENCE. STAFF PROVIDE CRISIS INTERVENTION, COURT ACCOMPANIMENT AND ASSISTANCE WITH CIVIL PROTECTION ORDERS, HOSPITAL ACCOMPANIMENT, YOUTH ADVOCACY, AND SUPPORT GROUPS AT LOCAL COLLEGES, AS WELL AS WITHIN THE AGENCY.
