Part 3 - Line 4a
HAITI RELIEF FUND - TO PROVIDE DIRECT ASSISTANCE TO THE HAITIAN PEOPLE WITH THE GOAL OF REBUILDING LIVES. THE FOUNDATION SUPPORTS TWO HAITIAN PRIMARY SCHOOLS AND PROVIDES FULL FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE SCHOOLS' OPERATIONS, INCLUDING TEACHER SALARIES, MAINTENANCE, SUPPLIES AND MEALS FOR THE CHILDREN. TOGETHER WITH COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS, THE FOUNDATION COMPLETED EXTENSIVE RENOVATION WORK IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE CHILDREN WITH A SAFE AND SANITARY PLACE TO LEARN. THESE RENOVATIONS HAVE INCLUDED THE REBUILDING OF RESTROOMS AND COOKING FACILITIES, A NEW CLASSROOM, THE INSTALLATION OF A WATER SYSTEM AND DRAINAGE FOR RAIN WATER, NEW ROOFING AND A GENERATOR FOR ELECTRICITY.
THE VOCAL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM IS A COMPETITION HELD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. IT IS OPEN TO ALL NEW VOICE STUDENTS WHO PLAN TO ATTEND THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY. THE COMPETITION AWARDS TUITION AND OTHER GRANTS TO GRADUATE AND UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS. THE WINNERS ARE DETERMINED BY A PANEL OF OUTSIDE PROFESSIONALS IN THE MUSIC FIELD AND ARE NOT DETERMINED BY THE FOUNDATION.
THE FOUNDATION RAISED FUNDS AND PROVIDED SUPPORT TO COMMUNITY ART PROJECTS, CHRISTMAS DONATIONS FOR COPS N KIDS, AND COMMUNITY HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS.
