THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES NECESSARY INDUSTRY SPECIFIC TRAINING TO BE EXPERT WITNESSES AND PROVIDE TESTIMONY AS NEEDED IN CRIMINAL CASES. THE EXPERT WITNESS COURTROOM TESTIMONY PROGRAM PROVIDES REAL COURTROOM EXPERIENCE WITH LAWYERS TO TAKE THE STAND FOR DIRECT EXAMINATION AND CROSS EXAMINATION. OREGON IAAI HOLDS ONE TO TWO CLASSES WITH A MAXIMUM OF 8 STUDENTS PER YEAR. IN SEPTEMBER 2023, OREGON IAAI HELD THE 44TH ANNUAL ADVANCED ARSON TRAINING WITH 71 ATTENDEES OFFERING 24 HOURS OF TESTED CONTINUING EDUCATION. BOTH NATIONAL AND LOCAL INSTRUCTORS WERE PART OF THIS TRAINING, SCHOLARSHIPS WERE PROVIDED THROUGH GRANTS AND SPONSORSHIP FUNDS. ATTENDEES ARE PRIMARILY FROM OREGON, BUT WE OFTEN WELCOME ATTENDEES FROM OTHER STATES.
