THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES EMPLOYMENT SERVICES TO ASSIST VERY LOW INCOME PEOPLE TO ESCAPE POVERTY AND HOMELESSNESS IN THE GRESHAM AND NEARBY EAST COUNTY AREA. ALL OF ITS SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES ARE GEARED TOWARD HOMELESS PEOPLE, PEOPLE WHO ARE AT HIGH RISK OF HOMELESSNESS AND PEOPLE LIVING BELOW THE POVERTY LEVEL. THE MAJORITY OF PEOPLE SERVED BY EAST COUNTY SOLUTIONS ARE AND WILL BE PEOPLE WITH INCOMES UNDER 30% OF THE MEDIAN FAMILY INCOME FOR THE GREATER PORTLAND, OREGON METROPOLITAN AREA. MANY OF THE INDIVIDUALS CANNOT READ OR WRITE IN ENGLISH AT THE LEVEL OF A HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATE.
