REBECCA'S TENT HAS PROVIDED TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR OVER 1,300 WOMEN EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS SINCE 1983. THE SHELTER OPERATES SEVEN DAYS A WEEK FROM 6:30 PM-6:30 AM TO WOMEN OF ALL RACES,RELIGIONS, AND BACKGROUNDS FROM NOVEMBER TO APRIL. LAST SEASON, 73 PERCENT OF WOMEN TRANSITIONED TO MORE STABLE HOUSING.
IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, REBECCA'S TENT, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH UNITED WAY(CONSIDERED TO BE PUBLIC), BEGAN PROVIDING PREVENTION SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IMPACTED BY THE PANDEMIC. PREVENTION SERVICES INCLUDE ASSISTING HOUSEHOLDS WITH PAST DUE, CURRENT, AND FUTURE RENT PAYMENTS AND SECURITY DEPOSITS AND THE FIRST MONTH'S RENT WHEN EVICTED. SINCE THE BEGINNING OF THE PANDEMIC, REBECCA'S TENT HAS PREVENTED OVER 145 HOUSEHOLDS FROM EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS BY PROVIDING RENTAL AND UTILITY ASSISTANCE.
REBECCA'S TENT PROVIDES SHORT-TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND SUPPORTIVESERVICES TO SINGLE WOMEN AND WOMEN WITH CHILDREN EXPERIENCING HOMELESSNESS. HOUSEHOLDS CAN RECEIVE UP TO 3 MONTHS OF RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND A SECURITY DEPOSIT.
