HUMAN SERVICE ORGANIZATION ASSITING THOSE WITH SIGNIFICANT BARRIERS FROM A STATE OF CRISIS TO STABILITY TO ECONOMIC MOBILITY. BARRIERS MAY INCLUDE HOMELESSNESS, INCARCERATION, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, SUBSTANCE ABUSE AND/OR ADDICTION, AND PSYCHOPATHOLOGY. ASSIST VETERANS CURRENTLY EXPERIENCEING HOMELESSNESS INTO PERMANENT HOUSING.

THE HOMELESS VETERANS REINTEGRATION PROGRAM SERVES CHRONICALLY HOMELESS VETERANS, VETERANS RECENTLY RELEASED FROM INCARCERATION, VETERANS AT RISK OF HOMELESSNESS WHO HAVE SUBSTANCE ABUSE DISORDER SUD, SERIOUS MENTAL ILLNESS SMI OR CO-OCCURING DISORDERS IN THE RICHMOND, VIRGINIA MSA. VETERANS WERE GIVEN ASSISTANCE TO APPLY FOR BENEFITS FROM THE VETERANS ADMINISTRATION, SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION AND THE DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL SERVICES. PEER SUPPORT, MENTAL HEALTH AND OTHER CRUTIAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED. THE PROGRAM ALSO INCREASES THE CAPACITY OF THE COMMUNITY TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE, EFFECTIVE, COMPREHENSIVE, COORDINATED, INTEGRATED AND EVIDENCE-BASED TREATMENT SERVICES THROUGH FACILITATING COMMUNITY PLANNING, ENGAGEMENT, TRAINING AND COMMUNITY-BASED PARTICIPATORY PROGRAMMING. THE HVRP PROGRAM FACILITATES THE COORDINATED ENTRY SYSTEM KNOWN AS VET LINK AND THE PLANNING COMMITTEE KNOWN AS THE VET WORK GROUP.
