IN 2021 WALKING IRIS MEDIA'S PROGRAM BROWN GIRLS DOC MAFIA PROVIDES GRANTS TO SUPPORT 10 WOMEN-OF-COLOR DIRECTORS. ANOTHER PROGRAM A-DOC PRODUCED 15 SHORT DOCUMENTARY FILMS BY ASIAN AMERICAN FILMMAKERS ABOUT THE COVID EXPERIENCE OF VARIOUS ASIAN AMERICAN COMMUNITIES THAT WERE SHOWN ON PUBLIC TELEVISION AND MADE AVAILABLE FREE ON YOUTUBE. WALKING IRIS MEDIA ORGANIZED SEVERAL PANELS ABOUT DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING AND DISTRIBUTION THAT WERE FREE FOR COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO ATTEND. WALKING IRIS MEDIA ALSO HOSTED WORKSHOPS TO IMPROVE THE SKILLS OF EMERGING FILMMAKERS OF COLOR.
