TEEN PROGRAMS: STEP UP REACHES HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS IN UNDER-RESOURCED COMMUNITIES THROUGH ITS AFTER SCHOOL AND SATURDAY MENTORSHIP PROGRAMS THAT FOCUS ON THE FULFILLMENT OF POTENTIAL. THE ORGANIZATION'S SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING BASED CURRICULUM CENTERS ON GIRLS BECOMING CONFIDENT, COLLEGE BOUND, CAREER FOCUSED AND READY TO JOIN THE NEXT GENERATION OF PROFESSIONAL WOMEN. PROGRAMMING IS FOCUSED ON FIRST BUILDING A FOUNDATION OF CONFIDENCE, AND THEN CHANNELING MOTIVATION INTO ACTION BY CONCENTRATING ON COLLEGE AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. USING A GROUP MENTORSHIP MODEL, STEP UP EXPOSES GIRLS TO MANY MENTORS AND CAREER PATHS DURING THEIR FOUR YEARS OF PROGRAMS. AS A RESULT, 100% OF STEP UP GIRLS HAVE ACCESS TO MULTIPLE PROFESSIONAL WOMEN ROLE MODELS EACH ACADEMIC YEAR.
MEMBER PROGRAMS: STEP UP INSPIRES WOMEN TO INSPIRE GIRLS. OUR MEMBER PROGRAMS HELP THE ORGANIZATION RECRUIT NEW COMMUNITY MEMBERS WHO WILL LEVERAGE THEIR RESOURCES ON BEHALF OF STEP UP GIRLS. STEP UP DESIGNS ITS MENTORSHIP MODEL SO THAT BOTH MENTOR AND MENTEE BENEFIT FROM THE RELATIONSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT.
YOUNG ADULT PROGRAMS: STEP UP REACHES YOUNG WOMEN AGES 18-23 AS THEY TRANSITION FROM HIGH SCHOOL INTO POST SECONDARY EDUCATION AND/OR CAREERS. WE FOCUS ON HELPING THEM TO FURTHER HONE THE SKILLS THEY WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL IN THE CLASSROOM, IN THE WORKFORCE, AND IN THEIR COMMUNITIES. THE MENTORING MODEL PAIRS YOUNG WOMEN WITH PROFESSIONAL MENTORS FOR STRUCTURED INDIVIDUALIZED COACHING, PLACES THEM IN SHORT TERM INTERNSHIPS, AND EXPOSES THEM TO CAREER OPPORTUNITIES. AS A RESULT, 81% OF PARTICIPANTS HAVE EXPERIENCED AN INCREASED GROWTH IN THEIR CAREER READINESS, HAVE DEFINED THEIR CAREER GOALS, AND HAVE DEVELOPED A PLAN FOR ACHIEVING THESE GOALS.
