EDUCURIOUS IS A NONPROFIT, K-12 EDUCATION CHANGE-MAKER.- OUR PROJECT-BASED CURRICULUM ENERGIZES STUDENTS WITH IDEAS THAT MATTER.- WE CONNECT STUDENTS TO THE WORLD THROUGH A GLOBAL NETWORK OF SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS AND MENTORS, WHO RELATE THE CURRICULUM TO CHALLENGES IN TODAY'S WORKPLACE. - WE SUPPORT TEACHERS WITH CUSTOMIZABLE TOOLS AND RESOURCES, IMMERSIVE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES, AND A VIBRANT LEARNING COMMUNITY.
THIS YEAR, EDUCURIOUS USED THIS CHALLENGING YEAR OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, DRAMATIC CHANGES IN EDUCATION AND A RECKONING WITH SYSTEMIC RACISM TO:- DEVELOP AN APPROACH TO HIGH-QUALITY PROJECT-BASED LEARNING THAT IS EFFECTIVE IN ONLINE, BLENDED AND IN CLASS MODELS TO SUPPORT THE CONSTANTLY CHANGING CIRCUMSTANCES OF OUR PARTNER SCHOOLS AND DISTRICTS.- INCREASE OUR REACH THROUGH THE EXPLORATION OF EDUCURIOUS PBL CURRICULA AND OPEN EDUCATION RESOURCES.- DEVELOP NEW HISTORY PBL CURRICULA IN PARTNERSHIP WITH DISTRICTS AND TEACHERS THAT TELL A COMPLETER AND MORE INCLUSIVE STORY OF AMERICAN HISTORY.- DEVELOP A FRAMEWORK FOR THE DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF HIGH-QUALITY, ANTI-RACIST PROJECT-BASED LEARNING IN SCIENCE AND SOCIALS STUDIES.- INCREASE THE NUMBER OF PARTNERS AND THE PRODUCTION OF CUSTOMIZED, CO-DESIGNED CURRICULA RESOURCES WITH A CONSORTIUM OF SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND ORGANIZATIONS SUCH AS NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC SOCIETY.- INCREASE THE NUMBER OF DISTRICTS AND STATES WE WORK WITH.
IN OUR FIRST DECADE EDUCURIOUS HAS WORKED WITH OVER 40,000 K-12 TEACHERS ACROSS 20 STATES. THE DEMONSTRATED IMPACTS OF THIS WORK INCLUDE:- HIGHER STUDENT ATTENDANCE, GRADES, AND TEST SCORES.- LOWER RATES OF ABSENTEEISM AND DISCIPLINE.- AMONG TEACHERS A RENEWED SENSE OF ENTHUSIASM AND FEELING SUPPORT IN IMPLEMENTING PROJECT-BASED LEARNING IN THEIR CLASSROOMS EVEN IN ONLINE AND BLENDED LEARNING.- INCREASED LITERACY ACHIEVEMENT AND STRONGER SOCIAL AND EMOTIONAL LEARNING.
