INTERNATIONAL JAZZ & BLUES FESTIVAL SCHEDULED FOR SEPT 5TH AND 6TH OF 2020 WAS POSTPONED TO SEPT 4TH AND 5TH OF 2021 DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC. MINOR EXPENSES INCURRED TO KEEP SOCIAL MEDIA PRESENCE AND WEBSITE UPDATED. EARLY TICKET SALES AND EXPENSES RELATED TO FESTIVAL PREPARATION REPORTED IN CURRENT FISCAL YEAR.
IN ADDITION TO THE FESTIVAL, AVAILABLE FUNDS ARE ALLOCATED TO AWARD DESERVING MUSIC STUDENTS WITH MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS. THE WINNERS ARE SELECTED FROM ESSAYS SUBMITTED AS TO WHAT MUSIC MEANS TO THEM AND WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO THEIR LIFE. FUNDS WERE RAISED TO HAVE THE STUDENT INSTRUMENT CONTEST AND THE STUDENTS WERE RECOGNIZED IN A VIRTUAL CONCERT HELD IN NOVEMBER 2020.
