MUSEUM: IN 2017, RIMOSA OPENED EXHIBIT SPACE IN PROVIDENCE. WE CONTINUE OUR TRAVELING PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE STATE, BUT OUR PHYSICAL HUB AT 763 WESTMINSTER STREET ALLOWS PEOPLE TO EXPERIENCE OUR MUSEUM: IN 2017, RIMOSA OPENED EXHIBIT SPACE IN PROVIDENCE. WE CONTINUE OUR TRAVELING PROGRAMMING THROUGHOUT THE STATE, BUT OUR PHYSICAL HUB AT 763 WESTMINSTER STREET ALLOWS PEOPLE TO EXPERIENCE OUR EXHIBITS AND ACTIVITIES AS INDIVIDUALS, IN MULTI-GENERATIONAL FAMILY GROUPS, OR THROUGH SCHOOL OR CAMP FIELD TRIPS, ON A WALK-IN BASIS AND ON THEIR SCHEDULE. BECAUSE RIMOSA EXPERIENCES ARE PHYSICALLY INTERACTIVE AND TACTILE AND BECAUSE - AS THEY ARE OPEN-ENDED - THEY HAVE NO SET WAY TO INTERACT WITH THEM, THEY ARE VERY EFFECTIVE IN REACHING A WIDE RANGE OF AGES AND TYPES OF LEARNING STYLES. ALTHOUGH THE PANDEMIC CONTINUED TO DECREASE OUT IN-PERSON OPPORTUNITIES, WE EXPANDED UPON OUR KITS OF NEW, PHYSICAL MATERIALS WHICH WERE DELIVERED TO THE HOMES OF RHODE ISLAND SCHOOL CHILDREN AND ALLOWED THEM TO PARTICIPATE IN OUR ONLINE PROGRAMS WHILE STILL MAINTAINING OUR COMMITMENT TO HANDS-ON LEARNING. JUST IN THE YEAR 2021, WE SENT KITS TO OVER 279 INDIVIDUALS AND ENGAGED THEM IN OVER 136 HOURS OF HANDS-ON, OPEN ENDED, STEAM (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, ART AND MATH) PROGRAMMING. IN 2020, IN SPITE OF THE CONTINUED PANDEMIC, RIMOSA ALSO WELCOMED OVER 1000 INDIVIDUALS IN PERSON TO OUR SITE.
