Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
PROVIDE EQUESTRIAN FACILITIES AND PROGRAMS APPROPRIATE TO TEACH SKILLS TO YOUTH WHICH INCLUDES PLANNING AND OBTAINING APPROVAL FOR PROGRAMS TO BE IMPLEMENTED AS FACILITIES BECOME READY. THESE PROGRAMS WILL BE DESIGNED TO MAINTAIN AND IMPROVE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY AND TARGETED YOUTH PARTICIPANTS.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
DURING CALENDAR YEAR 2023 PARK PLACE FOUNDATION'S PROGRAM SERVICES WERE FOCUSED ON A SINGLE PURPOSE: SECURING A LONG-TERM LOCATION THAT WOULD PROVIDE THE OPPORTUNITY TO OPERATE ITS PROGRAMS AND MAINTAIN POSITIVE CONNECTIONS WITH THE COMMUNITY LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND ITS CITIZENS. THIS FOCUS WAS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY BECAUSE OVER THE PAST SEVERAL YEARS THE FOUNDATION'S PROGRAMS BECAME SEMI NOMADIC AND HAD BEEN CURTAILED AND MODIFIED TO MEET THE CHANGING SOCIAL CONDITIONS SURROUNDING THE PROTRACTED RESTRICTIONS DURING COVID. THE SITUATION WAS FURTHER EXACERBATED DUE TO THE UNAVAILABILITY OF ITS PREVIOUS LOCATION AT THE ORANGE COUNTY FAIRGROUNDS. IN JULY OF 2023 THE CITY OF SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO SIGNED 20-YEAR LEASE OF THE RANCHO MISSION VIEJO RIDING PARK THAT SPECIFICALLY PRIORITIZES COMMUNITY CHARITY AND EQUESTRIAN EVENTS AND IS AVAILABLE TO PRIVATE ENTITIES THAT STAGE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL EQUESTRIAN COMPETITIONS. AGAINST THIS BACKGROUND THE FOUNDATION WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE EQUINE ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS THROUGH A PHALANX OF VOLUNTEERS TO APPROXIMATELY 100 TARGETED YOUTHS.
