CAMP KOALA PROVIDES FREE NON-DENOMINATIONAL COUNSELING, SOCIAL AND OTHER RELATED SERVICES TO ASSIST BEREAVING CHILDREN WITH THE LOSS OF A LOVED ONE THROUGH THE OPERATION OF ITS BEREAVEMENT CAMP. THERE ARE OVERNIGHT AND DAY CAMPS. ADDITIONALLY, IT HOSTS GRIEF SUPPORT GROUPS FOR CHILDREN IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS, HOSPITALS AND COMMUNITY CENTERS AND OFFERS COMFORT BAGS TO FUNERAL HOMES AND SCHOOL COUNSELORS. THE ORGANIZATION PLANS AND CONDUCTS ITS PROGRAM SERVICES FROM ITS CENTRAL LOCATION IN MIFFLINBURG BOROUGH, UNION COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA. DURING 2023, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 2,896 HOURS DONATED BY VOLUNTEERS ASSISTING WITH THE PLANNING AND OPERATION OF ITS CAMPS HELD AT LOCAL CAMPGROUNDS IN CENTRAL PA, AS WELL AS OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES, FUNDRAISING ACTIVITIES AND VARIOUS COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS.
