CAMP KOALA IS A NO-COST BEREAVEMENT CAMP FOR GRIEVING CHILDREN WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED A DEATH. CHILDREN AGES 7-12 ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND YOUTH CAMP KOALA AND TEENS AGES 13-18 ARE ELIGIBLE TO ATTEND TEEN PROGAMS. LICENSED COUNSELORS AND THERAPISTS LEAD SEVERAL THERAPEUTIC GROUP SESSIONS DESIGNED TO ADDRESS THE AGE-SPECIFIC NEEDS OF THE CAMPERS. DURING 2021, THERE WERE APPROXIMATELY 2,100 HOURS DONATED BY VOLUNTEERS ASSISTING WITH THE PLANNING AND OPERATION OF THE CAMP. DAY AND THREE-DAY CAMPS ARE HELD IN THE WILKES-BARRE, SCRANTON, UNION COUNTY AND CARLISLE, PA AREAS AT LOCAL CAMPGROUNDS. IN JULY OF 2021, THE ORGANIZATION PURCHASED A PROPERTY IN MIFFLINBURG BOROUGH, UNION COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA TO USE AS ITS CENTRAL LOCATION FOR PLANNING AND CONDUCTING ITS PROGRAM SERVICES.
