TO HELP HAITIANS CHANGE HAITI THROUGH EDUCATION. ESTABLISH A NEW SCHOOL MODEL THAT SUCCESSFULLY PREPARES AND INSPIRES FUTURE CHANGEMAKERS. THIS NEW SCHOOL-BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT APPROACH PLACES EMPHASIS ON WORKING WITH FAMILIES. PARENTS ARE REQUIRED TO GIVE FOUR SERVICE HOURS A WEEK TO HAVE THEIR CHILDREN ATTEND. DURING 2022-23 SCHOOL YEAR, 84,760 SERVICE HOURS WERE PROVIDED BY PARENTS AT THE CHILDRENS ACADEMY. SERVICE HOURS ARE A REFLECTION OF PARENT ENGAGEMENT AT THE SCHOOL AND ACCOMPLISH A VARIETY OF IMPORTANT TASKS LIKE MAINTAINING PERMACULTURE GARDENS, ASSISTING TEACHERS IN CLASS, WORKING IN THE HAND PAPERMAKING/GREETING CARD SOCIAL BUSINESS, TENDING TO SCHOOL GROUNDS, SERVING AS COMMUNITY HEALTH AGENTS, AND MORE. ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SOCIAL BUSINESS ARE ALSO CRITICAL COMPONENTS OF THE EDUCATIONAL MODEL THAT HAITI PARTNERS IS DEVELOPING AT THE CHILDRENS ACADEMY. QUALITY SCHOOLS PROGRAM - DEVELOPING SCHOOLS THAT HELP CHILDREN REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL WHILE DRIVING COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND LIFELONG LEARNING. - PARTNERING WITH SIX HAITIAN PRIMARY SCHOOLS TO PROVIDE TEACHER TRAINING, MANAGEMENT TRAINING, AND PARTNERSHIP DEVELOPMENT FOR QUALITY EDUCATION TO OVER 1200 STUDENTS. ADDITIONALLY, HAITI PARTNERS CO-FOUNDED WITH THE LOCAL COMMUNITY (2012) AND RUNS THE CHILDREN'S ACADEMY AND LEARNING CENTER, KNOWN AS ADECA IN HAITI. CURRENT ENROLLMENT OVER 400. ADECA IS A PRE-K THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL, MODELING AN APPROACH CALLED SCHOOL-BASED COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. THIS YEAR THREE SEMI-PERMENANT CLASSROOMS WERE ADDED TO THE CAMPUS TO ACCOMMODATE 90 ADDITIONAL STUDENTS.
