EDUCATION - ACE OPERATED THE CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM TO MEET THE PHYSICAL AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS OF OUR SPONSORED CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES. IN 2023 WE CONTINUED THE CHANGES IN ACCOUNTABILITY WITH THE PARENTS AND FAMILIES OF THE STUDENTS SPONSORED. WE WERE ABLE TO EMPLOY SOME OF THE PARENTS WHO NEEDED TO EARN AS WELL AS BEGIN THE PROCESS OF CELEBRATING STUDENT ATTENDANCE, GRADES AND SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENTS THAT HELP BUILD THE CONFIDENCE NEEDED IN THE STUDENTS. THESE OPPORTUNITIES BENEFITED AND CONTINUE TO BENEFIT THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF THE ENTIRE FAMILY.
DISCIPLESHIP - 2023 BEGAN THE WEEKLY USE OF THE PEACE HOUSE WITH ACTIVITIES, DINNER, CELEBRATIONS, AND COMMUNITY GROUP CHATS THAT DEALT WITH SPIRITUALITY. WE WERE ABLE TO HOLD DINNERS FOR OUR STAFF AND NEIGHBORS WHO ARE INTERESTED IN BECOMING PART OF A COMMUNITY WITH THEIR FAMILIES. WHILE ACE IS NOT A CHURCH NOR DOES IT DESIRE TO BECOME ONE, THE MINISTRY PROMOTES SOCIAL FELLOWSHIP THAT PROMOTES FAMILY LIFE, HEALTHY LIFESTYLE CHOICES, AND A SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING OF A GOD WHO LOVES THEM AND GIVES EACH PERSON A PURPOSE FOR THEIR LIVES. ACE HIRED A LOCAL PASTOR TO SPEAK TO THE COMMUNITY ATTENDING ABOUT TOPICS ON FINDING PEACE AND ESTABLISHING A BASE LINE FOR LIVING. MANY TOPICS WERE DISCUSSED DEALING WITH CHALLENGES OUR COMMUNITY FACES. BOOK CLUB WAS REINSTATED FOR THE ACE EMPLOYEES HELPING THEM GROW IN THEIR FAITH WALK.
HEALTHCARE - WELLNESS AFTER COVID WAS VERY LIMITED TO OUTREACH. WITH 2023 OPENING UP MORE IN OUR HEALTH REGION, ACE PROVIDED THE NECESSARY PROGRAMS AND FOLLOW UP WITH OUR ELDERLY, HOMEBOUND AND SPECIAL NEEDS STUDENTS. ACE PROVIDED LICENSED HEALTH PROVIDERS TO SEE AND ACCESS THE SICK AND FRAIL WHO WERE UNABLE TO LEAVE THEIR HOMES FOR MEDICAL HELP. IN ADDITION, IF THEY NEEDED A HAIRCUT OR SHAVE, WE USED OUR EQUIPMENT TO HELP CLEAN THEM UP. WE WERE BLESSED TO GET TO SPEND OVER TWO HOURS OR MORE PER RESIDENT.
ENTERPRISE - THE MICROBUSINESS PROGRAM CONTINUES TO BE A LEADING FORCE IN THE LOCAL ECONOMY AND YET KEEPING OUR CARBON FOOTPRINT SMALL. THIS PROGRAM HELPED ADULTS LEARN SKILLS AND GAIN EMPLOYMENT WHILE TEACHING THEIR CHILDREN THAT A FUTURE IS POSSIBLE IN A FAMILY BUSINESS. ACE HIRED A TOTAL OF 4 MEN/WOMEN TO JOIN THE AGRICULTURE WORK FORCE. OUR HONEY PROGRAM IS CONTINUALLY EXPANDING AND SELLING ON A RETAIL BASIS TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY. CLOUD 9 CHOCOLATE PRODUCTION HAS EXPANDED TO ANOTHER BAR, MINT CHOCOLATE, MAKING OUR LINE OF BRANDS 5 BARS AND 1 ESPRESSO BEAN. THE EDUCATIONAL PIECE OF HOW TO GROW, REAP, AND MAKE CHOCOLATE IS A BIG DEMAND IN THE TOURIST MARKET.
