OUR TAX-EXEMPT PURPOSE IS FOUR-FOLD:(1) TO SERVE AS AN OPEN INDUSTRY FORUM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF A GLOBAL STANDARD FOR THE INTERFACE OF IP-BASED PHYSICAL SECURITY PRODUCTS;(2) TO DEVELOP STANDARDS TO ENSURE INTEROPERABILITY BETWEEN IP-BASED PHYSICAL SECURITY PRODUCTS REGARDLESS OF MANUFACTURER OF ORIGIN;(3) TO PROVIDE FOR A COMMON PROTOCOL FOR THE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION BETWEEN IP-BASED PHYSICAL SECURITY DEVICES INCLUDING AUTOMATIC DEVICE DISCOVERY, VIDEO STREAMING AND INTELLIGENCE METADATA; AND(4) TO IMPROVE CONDITIONS IN THE IP-BASED PHYSICAL SECURITY PRODUCTS INDUSTRY AND, ULTIMATELY, TO BENEFIT CONSUMERS.

HELD ONE "PLUGFEST" ACTIVITY WHERE INDIVIDUAL MEMBER ORGANIZATIONS DEMONSTRATED INTEROPERABILITY OF THEIR PRODUCTS USING THE ONVIF SPECIFICATION; PRESENTED ONVIF SPECIFICATIONS AT SEVERAL INDUSTRY EVENTS AND CONFERENCES THROUGH SPEAKING /PRESENTATIONS/PANELS, WEBINARS, AND EXHIBITION. ONGOING EDUCATION OF ONVIF SPECIFICATIONS AND INTEROPERABILITY THROUGH PUBLIC RELATIONS, MEDIA COVERAGE, SOCIAL MEDIA, AND THE ONVIF BLOG.
DELIVERED NEW VERSIONS OF THE ONVIF CORE SPECIFICATION AND UPDATES TO THE ACCOMPANYING TEST SPECIFICATION, AND RELATED SCHEMA SPECIFICATIONS. RELEASED CLIENT AND DEVICE TEST TOOLS TO MEMBERS.
CONTINUED TO GROW THE PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROGRAM WHICH AT THE END OF 2021 RESULTED IN AN ADDITION OF MORE THAN 2,950 PRODUCTS FROM VARIOUS MEMBER COMPANIES. REQUIRED TESTING SOFTWARE TO EXERCISE EACH PRODUCT AGAINST THE ONVIF PROFILES WAS ENHANCED AND MADE AVAILABLE FOR FREE DOWNLOAD BY MEMBER COMPANIES - WITH BOTH DEVICE AND CLIENT TEST TOOLS.
