SAVE-A-MUTT IS DEDICATED TO CREATING AWARENESS ABOUT THE NUMBER OF ADOPTABLE DOGS IN SHELTERS AND FIND EVERY DOG ITS FOREVER HOME! WE DO THIS BY RAISING FUNDS TO A) COVER THE COSTS OF TRANSPORTING LITTERS OF PUPPIES FROM HIGH KILL SHELTERS TO SPAY/NEUTER AND ADOPT OUT; B) TO PROVIDE MEDICAL CARE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS OR INJURED DOGS IN OUR LOCAL SHELTER SYSTEM; C) FOCUS ON THE WELFARE AND FINAL PLACEMENT OF SENIOR DOGS RELINQUISHED AT AREA SHELTERS, INCLUDING MEDICAL, GROOMING AND GERIATRIC CARE. IN ADDITION, WE HOLD A FIRM BELIEF THAT 'PUPPIES AREN'T PRODUCTS' AND HOPE TO STOP THE SALE OF PUPPIES AND KITTENS IN WASHINGTON STATE PET STORES.

PET ADOPTION & TRAINING: SAVE-A-MUTT IS A SMALL, VOLUNTEER RUN RESCUE THAT WORKS TO PULL DOGS FROM SHELTER SYSTEMS AND PREPARE THEM FOR FOREVER HOMES. SAVE-A-MUTT'S 'FOSTER FIRST' PROGRAM PUTS SHELTER DOGS - FROM PUPPIES TO SENIOR DOGS - INTO FOSTER HOMES. ONCE PLACED WITH A FOSTER FAMILY, THOSE DOGS RECEIVE SOCIALIZATION, MEDICAL CARE AND LOVE! THE FAMILY OBSERVES EACH DOG AND THOSE OBSERVATIONS HELP SAVE-A-MUTT PLACE THE DOG IN A FOREVER HOME THAT IS BEST SUITED FOR THEIR PERSONALITY AND NEEDS. IN 2021, SAVE-A-MUTT FOUND HOMES FOR ALMOST 450 PUPPIES, ADULT AND SENIOR DOGS.
