AUBURN VALLEY HUMANE SOCIETY (AVHS) HAS A VISION TO BE A MODEL OF EXCELLENCE IN THE ADVANCEMENT OF ANIMAL WELFARE. AVHS MISSION SEEKS TO ENRICH THE LIVES OF COMPANION ANIMALS AND PEOPLE THROUGH ANIMAL SHELTERING, HUMAN AND ANIMAL SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT.

SHELTER OPERATIONS/PROGRAMS - AUBURN VALLEY HUMANE SOCIETY (AVHS) PROVIDES SHELTER AND QUALITY CARE FOR THE LOST, ABANDONED AND MISTREATED ANIMALS IN THE COMMUNITY. WHILE AVHS DOES NOT USE THE TERM, NO KILL SHELTER, SINCE 2013, AVHS HAS HAD A 98%+ LIVE RELEASE RATE FOR THE ANIMALS IN THEIR CARE. AVHS INSPIRES AND ENCOURAGES THE HUMAN ANIMAL BOND THROUGH THE QUALITY REHOMING OF PETS, A ROBUST AND ENGAGED VOLUNTEER PROGRAM, NUMEROUS HUMANE EDUCATION AND ANIMAL/HUMAN SOCIAL SERVICE PROGRAMS. AVHS ALSO OPERATES A SUCCESSFUL THRIFT AND CONSIGNMENT STORE TO HELP FUND OPERATIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION AND CARRY OUT THE MISSION.IN 2021 AVHS TOOK OVER OPERATIONS OF THE NORTHWEST SPAY AND NEUTER CENTER, WHICH HAS PERFORMED MORE THAN 100,000 SURGERIES SINCE 2001. MOST OF THESE CLIENTS DO NOT HAVE FINANCIAL MEANS TO ALTER THEIR ANIMALS, BUT OUR LOW PRICES AND ADDITIONAL SUBSIDIES MAKE SPAYING AND NEUTERING AN ACHIEVABLE CHOICE FOR EVERYONE.
