RESEARCH - THE ADDARIO LUNG CANCER MEDICAL INSTITUTE (ALCMI) IS DEDICATED TO CATALYZING AND ACCELERATING THE DISCOVERY, DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY OF NEW AND MORE EFFECTIVE TREATMENT OPTIONS FOR LUNG CANCER PATIENTS. ALCMI IS A PATIENT-FOUNDED, PATIENT-FOCUSED RESEARCH CONSORTIUM. ITS GOAL IS TO MAKE LUNG CANCER A CHRONICALLY MANAGED DISEASE. ALCMI WAS CREATED IN 2008, AS A PARTNER ORGANIZATION WITH GO2 FOR LUNG CANCER FOUNDATION (WASH DC), TO ENABLE THE COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS OF TISSUE AND BLOOD SAMPLES WHICH ARE ESSENTIAL TO RESEARCH AND TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED (AND MORE EFFECTIVE) THERAPIES.
