THE PEOPLE WHO ARE SERVED BY WICP SPEND ENJOYABLE TIME WITH OTHERS DURING HALF OF FULL-DAY SESSIONS WHILE UNDER THE CARE OF A PROFESSIONAL STAFF WHO IS TRAINED AND SKILLED IN GERIATRIC CAR, ALZHEIMERS CARE, AND THERAPEUTIC ACTIVITY PROGRAMMING. WICP CAN PROVIDE REPITE FROM THE FATIGUE AND ISOLATION THAT ACCOMPANIES LONG HOURS, DAY-IN-DAY-OUT IN A HOME SETTING, FOR BOTH THE CAREGIVER AND THE CARE RECIPIENT. WICP FUNCTIONS AS AN INDEPENDENT, NON-PROFIT AGENCY WITH THE OVERSIGHT OF DAILY OPERATIONS AND PROFESSIONAL STAFF CONDUCTED BY A VOLUNTEER BOARD OF DIRECTORS FROM THE SHOALS COMMUNITY. FUNDING COMES IN THE FORM OF CLIENT FEES AND VARIOUS CHARITABLE DONATIONS AND GRANTS. WICP RECEIVES NO FEDERAL FUNDING.
