TO STRENGTHEN THE SOUTHWESTERN PENNSYLVANIA SMALL AND MEDIUM-SIZED MANUFACTURING ECONOMY AND TO SUPPORT AND DEVELOP ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY AND A TRAINED WORKFORCE. THIS IS ACCOMPLISHED THROUGH EDUCATION PROGRAMS, PUBLIC FORUMS, TECHNICAL ADVISORY SERVICES, PUBLICATIONS, AND INTERNSHIPS.

OPERATIONS- CONDUCT SEMINARS, SPONSOR FORUMS, PROVIDE TECHNICAL ADVISORY SERVICES, PROMOTE SOCIAL WELFARE.THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC HAS AFFECTED OUR OPERATIONS BY REQUIRING A MOVE TO A HYBRID/VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT. PROGRAM INCOME HAS DECREASED SIGNIFICANTLY WITH PROJECT DELAYS AND WITH OUR HELPING COMPANIES RESPOND TO THE PANDEMIC AND THEIR OWN VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT WITH ADDITIONAL RESOURCES AND LOW COST/NO COST ASSISTANCE. THIS IS EXPECTED TO BE A TEMPORARY CHANGE.
SMALL MANUFACTURER SUPPLIER INITIATIVES ARE INITIATIVES THAT ASSIST MANUFACTURERS IN ENTERING SUPPLY CHAINS OF LARGER OEMS INCLUDING THE DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE, MARKET INTRODUCTION (MARCELLUS SHALE), NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT (ADDITIVE AND ROBOTICS), ADOPTING EXPORT (ITAR), AND PROCESS CONTROL TECHNOLOGIES (ISO, KATA), AND MORE.THIS ALSO INCLUDES SHARED SERVICES PROVIDED TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATIONS FOCUSED ON SUPPORTING SMALL MANUFACTURERS.
WORKFORCE- PROVIDE TRAINING AND EDUCATION THROUGH WORK-BASED SCHOOL TO WORK PROGRAMS, DEVELOP A PROPERLY SKILLED WORKFORCE TO SUPPORT MANUFACTURING AND TECHNOLOGY BASED ENTERPRISES.
