OVERALL PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES FINANCIAL COUNSELING AND MONEY MANAGEMENT FOR CONSUMERS WHO NEED AND REQUEST HELP. THE ORGANIZATION IS LICENSED BY THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION. THE ORGANIZATION IS PAID FEES FOR THESE SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 100 CONSUMERS. THIS PROGRAM BENEFITS BOTH THE INDIVIDUALS IN THE MENTAL HEALTH SYSTEM AND THE COMMUNITY WHERE THEY LIVE, SUCH AS LANDLORDS AND UTILITY COMPANIES BY GUARANTEEING PAYMENT EACH MONTH. THROUGH THE YEARS, THE ORGANIZATION HAS LEARNED MUCH ABOUT HANDLING THE VARIOUS NEEDS AND DESIRES OF THE PARTICIPANTS. EACH PERSON IS DIFFERENT, AND THEREFORE, EACH FINANCIAL PLAN IS SET UP DIFFERENTLY, AS TO EVENTUALLY MEET EACH PERSON'S INDIVIDUAL GOALS. THE ORGANIZATION TRIES TO HELP WHERE NEEDED TO IMPROVE OUR CONSUMER'S LIVING CONDITIONS, FIND SOLUTION TO THEIR SERVICE PROBLEMS AND ASSIST IN SHOPPING FOR VARIOUS NEEDS.
RENTAL AND AFTERCARE PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION RENTS LIVING SPACE TO CONSUMERS WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES. THE CONSUMERS MUST EITHER BE MENTALLY OR PHYSICALLY DISABLED. THE CONSUMERS ARE REFERRED TO THE ORGANIZATION THROUGH SOCIAL WORKERS AND THE MERCER COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY. THE ORGANIZATION SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 140 CONSUMERS.
HUMAN SERVICES DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION EXERCISES EVERY OPPORTUNITY TO EDUCATE THE PUBLIC (5,000 SERVED) ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESS TO HELP REDUCE STIGMA. THE ORGANIZATION ADVOCATES FOR THE NEEDS AND RIGHTS OF THE MENTALLY ILL FOR 120 CONSUMERS. THIS INCLUDES GIVING ADVICE AND REFERRALS TO CONSUMERS AND FAMILY MEMBERS; TALKING WITH LANDLORDS, UTILITY COMPANIES, GROCERY STORES, CLOTHING AND FURNITURE STORES; AND WORKING WITH CASE MANAGERS AND SUPPORTED HOUSING WORKERS ALL TO ASSURE THAT THE NEEDS OF THE CONSUMERS ARE MET.
TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM: THE ORGANIZATION OFFERS FREE TRANSPORTATION ONCE A MONTH FOR CONSUMERS' FAMILY AND FRIENDS TO VISIT WARREN STATE HOSPITAL. TRANSPORTATION IS ALSO PROVIDED FOR CONSUMERS WHO ARE NOT ABLE TO USE THE PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM.
