THE CALIFORNIA-NEVADA CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN FISHERIES SOCIETY IS ONE OF THE TOP 3 CHAPTERS IN THE SOCIETY, WITH OVER 500 MEMBERS. THE REGION ENCOMPASSES THE MOST DIVERSE ECOSYSTEMS TO SUPPORT FISH AND AQUATIC LIFE; FROM LARGE RIVERS TO MAINTAIN STREAMS, RESERVOIRS AND LAKES, ESTUARIES, MARINE AND COASTAL WATERS, AND EVEN DESERT SPRINGS.THE SOCIETY BUILDS RELATIONSHIPS AMONG MEMBERS IN PUBLIC AGENCIES, UNIVERSITIES, AND PRIVATE AND NON-PROFIT GROUPS. SCIENCE AND MANAGEMENT OF FISHERIES IS IMPROVED THROUGH THE AFS JOURNAL PUBLICATIONS AND CONFERENCE PRESENTATIONS. THE SOCIETY PROVIDES SCIENTIFIC INFORMATION TO DECISION-MAKERS. MEMBERSHIP PROVIDES ACCESS TO INDUSTRY INFORMATION AT THE CONFERENCE, THROUGH THE NEWSLETTER, THE WEBSITE AND OTHER COMMUNICATIONS.
