THE OREGON SOCIETY OF AMERICAN FORESTERS PROVIDES VALUABLE PROFESSIONAL, SCIENTIFIC, AND TECHNICAL FORESTRY INFORMATION TO MEMBERS AND INTERESTED PARTIES THROUGH AN ANNUAL MEETING AND VARIOUS CONFERENCES, WORKSHOPS, AND FIELD TOURS. THE OREGON SAF SPONSORS OUTREACH PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS. THE FIFTEEN CHAPTERS HOLD NUMEROUS MEETINGS ON TECHNICAL SUBJECTS, FOREST POLICY, AND DEVELOPING TRENDS IN FORESTRY. ITS NEWSLETTER, THE WESTERN FORESTER, IS DISTRIBUTED FOUR TIMES A YEAR TO ALL OSAF MEMBERS THROUGHOUT OREGON AS WELL AS TO SAF MEMBERS IN WASHINGTON AND ALASKA. IN 2022, ZOOM TECHNICAL MEETINGS WERE HELD, AND FIELD TRIPS WERE CONDUCTED IN PERSON. THE 2022 OREGON SAF ANNUAL MEETING HAD THE THEME:SEEING OUR FOREST BEYOND THE TREES. IT WAS A WELL ATTENDED VIRTUAL MEETING WITH 2 IN PERSON FIELD TRIPS. THE MEETING WAS ORGANIZED AND SPONSORED BY THE OSAF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE. AN ELECTRONIC NESLETTER, WOODEN TALES, KEEPS OREGON SAF MEMBERS CURRENT WITH STATE-WIDE ISSUES. OSAF COMPETED A PROJECT FUNDED BY THE SAF FORESTERS' FUND. THE PROJECT CONSISTED OF PLACING CUSTOM-DESIGNED SIGNS ON FIRE PROTECTION, FIREWISE HOMES, AND FIRE PREVENTION AT THE BASE OF HISTORIC FIRE WATCHTOWER AT THE HOSKIN'S DEMONSTRATION FOREST NEAR PORTLAND, OR
