WE PROTECT AND SUSTAIN FORESTS, STREAMS, WILDLIFE, AND COMMUNITIES IN THE HEART OF THE CASCADES THROUGH CONSERVATION, EDUCATION AND ADVOCACY.

IN 2021, WE CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR AND PROVIDE SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS TO FOREST MANAGEMENT AND WATERSHED PROTECTIONS IN WASHINGTON'S SOUTH CASCADES. WE DID THIS BY WORKING IN LOCAL COLLABORATIVE GROUPS AND PROVIDING PUBLIC COMMENTS ON FOREST MANAGEMENT AND POLICY DECISIONS, AND WORKED TO PROTECT THE MT. ST. HELENS AREA FROM IRRESPONSIBLE MINING ACTIVITIES AND A POTENTIALLY DESTRUCTIVE ROAD ACROSS THE PUMICE PLAIN. WE CONTINUED THE IMPLEMENTATION OF A PROGRAM TO SOURCE AND STORE NON-MERCHANTABLE WOOD FOR AQUATIC RESTORATION, REINTRODUCED BEAVERS, MONITORED WILDLIFE THROUGH WILDLIFE CAMERAS, RESTORED STREAMS BY ENHANCING AQUATIC AND RIPARIAN HABITATS, AND RESTORED THE LANDSCAPE THROUGH PLANTINGS AND PRE AND POST- FIRE RESTORATION.
