AFFILIATE GRANT - STAFF DEVELOPMENT: $20,000 ($2,500 X 8 AFFILIATES) THE KENDAL CHARITABLE FUNDS BOARD OFFERED A GRANT OPPORTUNITY IN 2023 TO SELECT KENDAL AFFILIATES TO SUPPORT THEIR ABILITY TO ADDRESS WORKFORCE CHALLENGES WITH A FOCUS ON THE KENDAL DIVERSITY, EQUITY, INCLUSION AND BELONGING (DEIB) PILLARS. THIS IS A CONTINUATION OF THIS GRANT OPPORTUNITY.
LLOYD LEWIS PROMISING INNOVATIONS GRANT: $12,500 THE 2023 PROMISING INNOVATIONS GRANT CYCLE FOCUSED ON THE NATIONAL WORKFORCE SHORTAGES FACING THE HEALTHCARE SYSTEM, PARTICULARLY THE SHORTAGE OF SKILLED WORKERS IN THE FIELD OF AGING SERVICES. FUNDING WAS APPROVED DURING 2023 FOR THE ACADEMY OF HOPE ADULT PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL (AOH). AOH WAS PREVIOUSLY AWARDED A $50,000 GRANT IN 2022 TO BE DISBURSED OVER THE COURSE OF TWO (2) YEARS. THE GRANT PROGRAM RUNS 1/1/2023 - 12/31/2024. THE FIRST INSTALLMENT WAS PAID IN DECEMBER 2022. AOH'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE HIGH-QUALITY, EFFECTIVE INSTRUCTION TO ADULT LEARNERS IN THE AREAS OF READING, WRITING, AND MATH; POSITION LEARNERS FOR SUCCESS IN THEIR CAREERS; AND ADDRESS AND MITIGATE THE DRIVERS OF EDUCATIONAL AND ECONOMIC INEQUITY.
AFFILIATE GRANT - LEADERSHIP IN TRAINING PROGRAM: $20,000THIS GRANT SUPPORTS AN ADMINISTRATION IN TRAINING (AIT) PROGRAM WITH THE HOPE OF EVENTUALLY FORMALIZING AND BECOMING A WIDE-REACHING MODEL WITH A PATHWAY INTO QUAKER-SPONSORED ORGANIZATIONS. THE STUDENTS WILL HAVE 6-9 MONTHS TO COMPLETE THE PROGRAM, WHILE EARNING A LIVING WAGE, AND HAVE EXPOSURE TO LEADERSHIP. BOARDS AND RESIDENTS AT THEIR AFFILIATE BARCLAY FRIENDS IN WEST CHESTER, PA. MOST AIT PROGRAMS ARE UNPAID; THIS GRANT WILL ALLOW FOR A GENEROUS LIVING WAGE OF $40,000. FSA WILL FUND $20,000 AND KENDAL CHARITABLE FUNDS WILL FUND $20,000. BARCLAY FRIENDS WILL HOST THE AIT AND PROVIDE THE EXPERIENCES REQUIRED FOR THE COMMONWEALTH OF PA AND PREPARE THE AIT TO SIT FOR THE LICENSURE EXAM.
GRANT PROGRAM:ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION, WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S - $16,500 ALZHEIMER'S AND ALL OTHER DEMENTIAS EFFECT MORE THAN 6 MILLION OLDER ADULTS IN AMERICA. THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION IS THE LEADING VOLUNTARY HEALTH ORGANIZATION IN ALZHEIMER'S CARE, SUPPORT AND RESEARCH. IN OCTOBER 2023, THE KCF BOARD APPROVED THE RELEASE OF $16,500 TO THE ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION TO MATCH FUNDS UP TO $16,500 RAISED ACROSS THE SYSTEM BY THE KENDAL CORPORATION AND ALL AFFILIATED ORGANIZATIONS AS PART OF THE WALK TO END ALZHEIMER'S EVENTS.
