PRB IS A TRUSTED SOURCE, EMPLOYING A VARIETY OF APPROACHES TO CONNECT DATA USERS WITH DATA PRODUCERS. INTERNATIONAL PROGRAMS: THE MOMENTUM KNOWLEDGE ACCELERATOR (MKA) PROJECT PROVIDES KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT AND ADAPTIVE LEARNING GUIDANCE ACROSS ALL MOMENTUM PROJECTS SO IMPLEMENTING PARTNERS AND AFFILIATED USAID STAFF CAN SHARE EXPERIENCES FROM THEIR DIVERSE PARTNERSHIP WORK AND LESSONS LEARNED. MKA CATALYZES IMPROVEMENTS IN MATERNAL, NEWBORN AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAMS AND GENERALLY, PRIMARY HEALTH CARE, BY ENSURING THE RIGHT INFORMATION REACHES THE RIGHT PEOPLE IN THE RIGHT FORMATS TO INFORM DECISIONS THAT SAVE LIVES AND REDUCE ILLNESS AND DISABILITY. BEYOND MKA, PRB PROVIDES LEADERSHIP ON STRATEGIC COMMUNICATIONS AND RESEARCH UTILIZATION TO RESEARCHERS IN MORE THAN 10 COUNTRIES ON PROJECTS FUNDED BY USAID AND PRIVATE FOUNDATIONS.
U.S. PROGRAMS: THE KIDSDATA PROGRAM TRACKS MORE THAN 900 INDICATORS INCLUDING SAFETY, HEALTH, EDUCATION, AND ECONOMIC SECURITY OF CHILDREN AND YOUTH TO INFORM POLICYMAKERS, ADVOCATES, PUBLIC AGENCIES, AND NONPROFITS ABOUT THE TOUGHEST ISSUES IMPACTING CALIFORNIA'S CHILDREN AND COMMUNITIES. FOR THE US CENSUS BUREAU, PRB SUPPORTS DATA USER COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES FOR THE AMERICAN COMMUNITY SURVEY (ACS), INCLUDING CREATING WRITTEN AND VIDEO RESOURCES, MAINTAINING AN ONLINE COMMUNITY, AND ORGANIZING THE DATA USER CONFERENCE WHICH HAD OVER 1,000 REGISTRANTS IN 2023. PRB STAFF PROVIDE FEEDBACK ON THE DESIGN AND MEASUREMENT OF THE KIDS COUNT INDEX, OFFER TECHNICAL SUPPORT TO DATA USERS, ORGANIZE A DATA INSTITUTE, AND COMPILE DATA FOR THE KIDS COUNT DATA BOOK, PRODUCED ANNUALLY BY THE ANNIE E. CASEY FOUNDATION. PRB SYNTHESIZES AND SUMMARIZES THE WORK OF POPULATION RESEARCHERS FOR BROAD AUDIENCES THROUGH PROJECTS SUPPORTED BY THE EUNICE KENNEDY SHRIVER NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF CHILD HEALTH AND HUMAN DEVELOPMENT AND THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE ON AGING.
COMMUNICATIONS PROGRAMS: PRB ENGAGED IN A SOCIAL MEDIA CAMPAIGN WITH DR. SHALON'S MATERNAL ACTION NETWORK IN MARCH 2023 TO RAISE AWARENESS OF BLACK MATERNAL MORTALITY IN THE UNITED STATES, WHICH RECEIVED A CLIO HEALTH AWARD. PRB ALSO HOSTED A WEBINAR, "AS CHINA AND INDIA AGE, YOUNG AFRICA HAS THE POTENTIAL TO POWER THE GLOBAL WORKFORCE," WHICH REACHED A GLOBAL AUDIENCE FROM 48 COUNTRIES TO DISCUSS POPULATION AGING, THE AFRICAN UNION'S AGENDA 2063, MIGRATION, AND THE CARE ECONOMY.
