Describe the Organization's Mission:

Part 3 - Line 1

GLOBAL CITIZEN IS A COMMUNITY OF INDIVIDUALS TAKING ACTION TO END EXTREME POVERTY.

Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3 - Line 4a

ADVOCACY AND POLICY CAMPAIGNS AND EVENTS: GLOBAL CITIZEN HOSTED TWO EVENTS IN SEPTEMBER: GLOBAL CITIZEN LIVE AND GLOBAL CITIZEN FESTIVAL: ACCRA. THE CAMPAIGN AIMED TO RAISE $600 MILLION FROM WORLD LEADERS, CORPORATIONS, AND PHILANTHROPISTS TO SUPPORT WOMEN AND GIRLS, ADDRESS THE $10 BILLION CLIMATE FINANCING SHORTFALL, PROVIDE $500 MILLION TO AID AFRICAN FARMERS DURING THE GLOBAL FOOD CRISIS, AND OFFER RELIEF FROM CRUSHING DEBTS. THE POLICY AGENDA FOCUSED ON EMPOWERING GIRLS AND WOMEN, TAKING CLIMATE ACTION, REMOVING SYSTEMIC BARRIERS THAT KEEP PEOPLE IN POVERTY, AND SUPPORTING ACTIVISTS AND ADVOCATES. OUR ULTIMATE GOAL WAS TO ACHIEVE AN AMBITIOUS POLICY AGENDA THAT WOULD BENEFIT EVERYONE.

END TO EXTREME POVERTY CAMPAIGNING: GLOBAL CITIZEN'S EFFORTS TO ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY HAVE RESULTED IN CONCRETE ACTIONS ON GLOBAL SYSTEMIC ISSUES AND HAVE SECURED POLICY AND FINANCIAL COMMITMENTS FROM WORLD LEADERS. OUR CAMPAIGNS COVER A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS, INCLUDING EDUCATION FOR ALL, GENDER EQUALITY, ACCESS TO FOOD, SANITATION AND WATER, GLOBAL HEALTH, AND CLIMATE ACTION. SADLY, THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC HAS HAD A DISPROPORTIONATE IMPACT ON THE GLOBAL POPULATION. NEARLY 100 MILLION MORE PEOPLE HAVE BEEN PUSHED INTO EXTREME POVERTY, REVERSING THE PROGRESS THE WORLD HAD MADE IN RECENT YEARS IN REDUCING POVERTY AND INEQUALITY. THE MOST VULNERABLE COMMUNITIES ARE BEARING THE BRUNT OF THE INACTION BY OUR LEADERS, JEOPARDIZING MILLIONS OF LIVES AND THE FUTURE OF OUR PLANET.
