EDUCATING COMMUNITIES FOR PARENTING (ECP)IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION WHICH HAS PROVIDED HIGH QUALITY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT AND PARENTING EDUCATION THROUGHOUT PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA AND THE COUNTRY. ECP PROVIDES THE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS NECESSARY FOR CHILDREN, TEENS, AND AT-RISK PARENTS TO BECOME INDEPENDENT, RESPONSIBLE, NURTURING CITIZENS AND PARENTS; BETTER ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES, THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES. ECP'S MISSION IS TO BREAK GENERATIONAL CYCLES OF LIVES DEFINED BY LIMITED OPTIONS AND REPLACE THEM WITH LIVES DEFINED BY LIMITLESS POSSIBILITIES. ECP SERVES NEARLY 400 STUDENTS ANNUALLY AT OVER 10 SITES INCLUDING TRADITIONAL, ALTERNATIVE, AND CHARTER SCHOOLS; FOSTER CARE RESIDENCES, AND THE PHILADELPHIA JUVENILE JUSTICE SERVICES CENTER. ECP WORKS WITH A DIVERSE RANGE OF POPULATIONS INCLUDING TEEN AND ADULT PARENTS; ADJUDICATED DELINQUENT YOUTH, BOTH NON-PARENTING AND PARENTING; YOUTH IN THE FOSTER CARE SYSTEM AND THOSE AGING OUT; PRESCHOOLERS, AND CHILDREN AT GRAVE RISK OF BECOMING VICTIMS OR PERPETRATORS OF VIOLENCE.
