THE MISSION OF THE ORGANIZATION IS TO PROVIDE COMPREHENSIVE, DIRECT SERVICES TO VICTIMS OF RAPE AND OTHER SEXUAL ASSAULTS, TO VICTIMS OF OTHER SERIOUS CRIMES, AND TO THE VICTIMS' SIGNIFICANT OTHERS. A FURTHER AIM IS TO INCREASE AWARENESS OF THE PROBLEM OF SEXUAL VIOLENCE AND TO ENCOURAGE MORE COMPASSIONATE TREATMENT OF VICTIMS IN THE RELEVANT SYSTEMS, BY PROVIDING EDUCATION PROGRAMS TO SCHOOLS, COMMUNITY GROUPS, AND PROFESSIONALS IN RELATED DISCIPLINES.

THE MISSION OF DELAWARE COUNTY WOMEN VICTIM ASSISTANCE CENTER (DELCOVAC) IS TO ADDRESS THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA ON THE COMMUNITY AND ON THE INDIVIDUAL, AND TO EMPOWER AND GIVE VOICE TO THOSE WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED TRAUMA THROUGH SEXUAL ASSAULT AND OTHER SERIOUS CRIMES. DELCOVAC PROMOTES HEALING AND JUSTICE BY PROVIDING ACCOMPANIMENT AND ADVOCACY, AND STRIVES TO PREVENT SEXUAL VIOLENCE THROUGH EDUCATION AND AWARENESS. DURING THE 2021-2022 FISCAL YEAR, THE ORGANIZATION RECEIVED 3,427 HOTLINE CALLS; ACCOMPANIED CLIENTS 3,042 TIMES TO HOSPITALS, POLICE INTERVIEWS, AND CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROCEEDINGS; PROVIDED 5,261 HOURS OF SUPPORTING COUNSELING AND LONGER-TERM THERAPY; AND PRESENTED 847 PREVENTION AND AWARENESS EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS TO 21,737 STUDENTS THROUGHOUT DELAWARE COUNTY.
