PTC KICKED OFF ITS 2022-23 SEASON WITH THE WORLD PREMIERE OF THE TATTOOED LADY, A NEW MUSICAL BY MAX VERNON AND ERIN COURTNEY, DIRECTED BY ELLIE HEYMAN. THIS LIVELY SHOW CELEBRATES FEMALE EMPOWERMENT AND MARKS PTC'S FIRST COMMISSION SINCE OPENING THE SUZANNE ROBERTS THEATRE IN 2007. THE SEASON CONTINUED WITH THE PREMIERE OF ANA NOGUEIRA'S EMPHATHITRAX, DIRECTED BY NELL BANG-JENSEN AND BROUGHT TO LIFE BY A CAST AND CREATIVE TEAM REPRESENTING THE BEST OF PHILADELPHIA TALENT. EMPHATHITRAX OFFERS A STARK WARNING ABOUT THE DANGERS OF A FICTIONAL PHARMACEUTICAL BREAKTHROUGH, WHICH RESONATED STRONGLY IN THE WAKE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. THE SEASON CONCLUDED WITH LANIE ROBERTSON'S MODERN CLASSIC LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR & GRILL, DIRECTED BY PTC RESIDENT ARTIST AND BROADWAY VETERAN JEFFREY L. PAGE. AUDIENCES WERE CAPTIVATED BY THIS IMMERSIVE RECREATION OF ONE OF BILLIE HOLIDAY'S FINAL PERFORMANCES, FEATURING PHILADELPHIA VOCALIST LAURIN TALESE IN HER THEATRICAL DEBUT. THIS SEASON ALSO SAW THE ADDITION OF STUDENT MATINEE AND AFFINITY NIGHTS.
