DAEMION COUNSELING CENTER, INC. GIVES HOPE ONE HOUR AT A TIME. WE WORK TIRELESSLY TO RESTORE HOPE IN THOSE FEELING HOPELESS, TO SUPPORT THOSE FEELING HELPLESS, AND TO CHANGE THE OUTCOMES FOR PEOPLE DEALING WITH ANGER, TRAUMA, STRESS, DEPRESSION, ANXIETY, GRIEF, AND LOSS, AMONG OTHER LIFE TRANSITIONS AND CHALLENGES. WE CARRY OUT OUR MISSION BY PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL, AFFORDABLE MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING TO INDIVIDUALS, COUPLES, AND FAMILIES, FROM AGE 14 TO SENIORS, WITH A CARING, NONJUDGMENTAL , AND SOLUTION-BASED APPROACH. WE ARE EQUALLY COMMITTED TO COMMUNITY OUTREACH AND EDUCATION, REDUCING THE STIGMA ASSOCIATED WITH MENTAL HEALTH CARE AND INCREASING ACCESS TO LOCAL COUNSELING AND SUPPORT GROUPS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED. CLIENTS RECEIVE A FREE TELEPHONE CONSULT AND TYPICALLY CAN SEE A THERAPIST WITHIN TWO TO THREE DAYS. WITH MORE THAN 50 YEARS OF PROFESSIONAL SUPPORT TO THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, OUR SERVICES HAVE EVOLVED TO INCLUDE DRUG AND ALCOHOL EVALUATION, ANGER MANAGEMENT EVALUATION AND COUNSELING, COVID-19 RELATED DIAGNOSES, SUCH AS LANGUISHING, GRIEF AND LOSS, ISOLATION AND PARENTING ISSUES SURROUNDING THE ONGOING PANDEMIC. IN EARLY MARCH 2020, WE CLOSED OUR DOOR TO FACE-TO-FACE COUNSELING AND PIVOTED TO TELEHEALTH SESSIONS SO THAT WE COULD CONTINUE TO SERVE OUR CLIENTS. WE SAW A 65% INCREASE IN CLIENT SESSION HOURS RESULTING IN HIRING OF ADDITIONAL STAFF AND BRING ON TWO MASTER'S LEVEL INTERNS TO MEET THE NEED. AS OF SEPTEMBER 2022, WE CONTINUE SEEING CLIENTS VITUALLY, AND WE WILL SEE VACCINATED CLIENTS IN PERSON FOLLOWING THE CDC GUIDELINES. OUR GOAL IS TO HELP CLIENTS HEIGHTEN THEIR SELF-AWARENESS, SO THAT THEY ARE EQUIPPED TO MAKE MORE EFFECTIVE, PROTECTIVE LIFE CHOICES AND TO IMPROVE THEIR ABILITY TO COPE WITH DAILY, AS WELL AS UNEXPECTED STRESSES. OUR THERAPISTS HELP CLIENTS' PROCESS DEVELOPMENTAL AND TRAUMA-RELATED EXPERIENCES THAT SHAPE HOW THEY PROCESS THE WORLD AND RELATE TO OTHERS BY EXPLORING THEIR THOUGHTS, FEELINGS, AND BEHAVIORS TO IDENTIFY OPPORTUNITIES FOR GROWTH. WE SERVE THE INSURED, UNINSURED AND POORLY INSURED, AND OFFER A SLIDING FEE SCALE FOR CLIENTS WHO CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY THE FULL COST OF MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELING. FORTY-FOUR PERCENT, (44%) OF CLIENTS USED DAEMION'S SLIDING FEE SCALE AND MANY RECEIVED COUNSELING FREE DURING THIS FISCAL YEAR DUE TO THE PANDEMIC. NO ONE IS TURNED AWAY FOR THE LACK OF ABILITY TO PAY FOR CARE. FINANCIAL NARRATIVE FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022: THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED JUNE 30, 2022 WAS A STRONG YEAR FINANCIALLY FOR DAEMION COUNSELING CENTER, INC. TOTAL NET ASSETS INCREASED $113,065 YEAR OVER YEAR PRIMARILY AS A RESULT OF THE SUCCESSFUL 50TH ANNIVERSITY FUNDRAISER. REVENUES WERE UP $107,228 PRIMARILY AS A RESULT OF THE SUCESSFUL 50TH ANNIVERSITY GALA, WHILE EXPENSES FELL $5,869 DUE TO STAFF VACANCIES. PROGRAM SERVICE REVENUE REMAINED STABLE AS SERVICES WERE EASILY MANAGED REMOTELY. CASH AND INVESTMENTS AVAILABLE FOR SALE TOTALED $246,388 ENOUGH TO COVER A FULL YEAR OF OPERATING EXPENSES. FUND RAISERS: IN MAY OF 2022, DAEMON COUNSELING CENTER, INC. WAS FINALLY ABLE TO HOST ITS 50TH ANNIVERSITY GALA WHICH WAS A RESOUNDING SUCCESS.
