NC GREENPOWER'S MISSION IS TO EXPAND PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND ACCEPTANCE OF CLEANER ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES TO ALL NORTH CAROLINIANS THROUGH LOCAL, COMMUNITY BASED INITIATIVES.

NC GREENPOWER PROMOTES THE DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY IN NC AND CARBON OFFSETS IN NC/SC/VA.IN ADDITION NC GREENPOWER THROUGH IT'S SOLAR SCHOOLS PROGRAM PROVIDES GRANTS FOR EDUCATIONAL SOLAR PACKAGES TO NORTH CAROLINA K-12 SCHOOLS. WITH DUKE ENERGY RENEWABLE ENERGY (MASS MARKET PRODUCT) DONORS SWITCHING OVER TO SUPPORT SOLAR+ SCHOOLS IN 2023, ELECTRIC UTILITY CUSTOMERS SUBSCRIBED TO THE RENEWABLE ENERGY PRODUCT, PROVIDING A PREMIUM ABOVE THE USUAL MONTHLY UTILITY PAYMENTS TO SUPPORT APPROXIMATELY 17,677,500 KWH OF ENERGY ANNUALLY COMING FROM RENEWABLE ENERGY INSTEAD OF TRADITIONAL SOURCES SUCH AS COAL.


FOR CARBON OFFSETS, 207 ELECTRIC UTLITY CUSTOMERS SUBSCRIBED TO SUPPORT THE MITIGATION OF 2,058 TONS OF CARBON DIOXIDE.


FOR THE DUKE ENERGY DONORS WHO SWITCHED TO SUPPORT SOLAR+ SCHOOLS, THE PROGRAM HAD 3,219 CONTRIBUTORS.
