THE RURAL HEALTH NETWORK OF SCNY, INC'S MISSION IS TO ADVANCE THE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING OF RURAL PEOPLE AND COMMUNITIES. THE AGENCY ACCOMPLISHES THIS THROUGH FIVE MAJOR PROGRAMS: (1) COMMUNITY HEALTH SERVICES - ENSURING ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE, QUALITY HEALTHCARE AND SUPPORT SERVICES BY HELPING INDIVIDUALS ACCESS AND NAVIGATE THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM, (2) THE FOOD AND HEALTH NETWORK - WORK TO INCREASE THE CONSUMPTION OF HEALTHY, LOCALLY GROWN FOOD THROUGHOUT THE REGION, (3) GETTHERE - PROGRAM SERVES FIVE COUNTIES AND OPERATES A TRANSPORTATION INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE CALL CENTER THAT WORKS TO HELP THOSE WITH TRANSPORTATION NEEDS TO FIND WORKABLE, AFFORDABLE SOLUTIONS, (4) RURAL HEALTH PLANNING, EDUCATION AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE - WORK AT THE LOCAL AND REGIONAL LEVEL TO PROVIDE ASSISTANCE WITH HEALTH RELATED NEEDS ASSESSMENTS, PLANNING AND PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION.
