Part 3 - Line 4a
DEVELOP AND DELIVER INNOVATIVE, COLLABORATIVE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING FOR PROFESSIONALS IN THE NONPROFIT SECTOR. THE FOUNDATION'S EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING SERVES AS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR INDIVIDUAL PARTICIPANTS, AND INCREASE AWARENESS, KNOWLEDGE, AND SHARING OF BEST PRACTICES ACROSS THE SECTOR FOR IMPROVED OUTCOMES IN FUNDRAISING, ETHICS AND ACCOUNTABILITY, ORGANIZATIONAL MANAGEMENT, COMMUNICATIONS AND MARKETING, STAFF DEVELOPMENT AND RETENTION, COMPLIANCE, AND OTHER PERTINENT TOPICS. THE ESSENTIAL LEADERSHIP LAB, A YEAR-ROUND PEER-DRIVEN VIRTUAL PROGRAM THAT LAUNCHED IN JANUARY 2021 IN THE MIDST OF PANDEMIC-IMPOSED RESTRICTIONS, RETAINED ITS VALUE AND ENROLLMENT IN 2022 EVEN AS IN-PERSON EVENTS RESUMED. THE NONPROFIT ALLIANCE FOUNDATION, IN COLLABORATION WITH ANOTHER 501(C)3 ASSOCIATION, HOSTED A FAITH & FUNDRAISING CONFERENCE IN FEBRUARY 2022, BRINGING TOGETHER 300 FAITH-FOCUSED FUNDRAISERS FOR EDUCATION AND PEER DEVELOPMENT. IN MARCH 2022, THE FOUNDATION RESUMED ITS IN-PERSON ANNUAL LEADERSHIP SUMMIT FOR 150 SECTOR SENIOR LEADERS, AND HOSTED THE FIRST RISING LEADERS SUMMIT ONE-DAY PROGRAM FOR 75 ATTENDEES IN SEPTEMBER 2022. THESE FOUR PILLAR EVENTS WERE SUPPLEMENTED BY NUMEROUS SMALLER IN-PERSON AND VIRTUAL EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING OFFERINGS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.
IN 2022, THE FOUNDATION LAUNCHED LEADING EDGE, A PROGRAM DESIGNED TO ELEVATE THE VISIBILITY OF COLLEGE-AGE JOB CANDIDATES, PARTICULARLY THOSE IN UNDERREPRESENTED AND FIRST-GENERATION STUDENT POPULATIONS, WITHIN THE EMPLOYER JOB MARKET; AND ENABLE FIRST JOB PLACEMENTS THAT CAN LEAD TO A CAREER PATH IN THE SOCIAL GOOD SECTOR. IN A WASHINGTON, DC AREA PILOT DURING SUMMER 2022, LEADING EDGE PLACED FIVE STUDENTS IN PAID INTERNSHIPS WITH NONPROFIT SECTOR EMPLOYERS. THE FOUNDATION PROVIDES 1:1 SUPPORT FOR THE INTERNS AND THEIR EMPLOYER MANAGERS, COMPLEMENTARY EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, AND INFORMAL VIRTUAL MENTORSHIP MEET-UPS. THE PROGRAM WILL EXPAND TO INCLUDE MORE DC AREA STUDENTS AND EMPLOYERS IN 2023, WITH PLANS TO MOVE INTO A SECOND CITY IN 2024. LEADING EDGE IS PART OF THE NONPROFIT ALLIANCE FOUNDATION'S DEI INITIATIVE.
