OVER THE PAST YEAR GVAS HAS OFFERED SOME EXCELLENT PROGRAMS ON, PIPING PLOVERS NESTING ON THE GREAT LAKES, THE BIRD OF PREY ABOUT THE PHILIPPINE EAGLE AND NATURE'S BEST HOPE, BY DOUG TALLAMY ABOUT HOW NATIVE PLANTS FEED NATIVE INSECTS THAT FEED NATIVE BIRDS. GVAS VOLUNTEERS BROUGHT GROUPS FROM ROCHESTER CITY RECREATION CENTERS TO BRADDOCK BAY TO LEARN ABOUT WETLANDS, FROGS AND BIRDS. WE HAVE OFFERED FIELD TRIPS TO SHOW MEMBERS HOW TO FEED CHICKADEES IN MENDON PONDS PARK AND BIRD WATCHING AT MT. HOPE CEMETERY. GVAS OFFERED WORK DAYS TO REMOVE INVASIVE AQUATIC WEEDS FROM BRADDOCK BAY, A TOTAL OF 1470 LBS. OUR BEACH CLEAN UP IN THE FALL ALONG THE SHORE OF THE BAY AND LAKE ONTARIO CLEANED UP 200 LBS OF TRASH.
