DNA ANNUAL CONVENTION -NATIONAL EDUCATIONAL EVENT THAT DRAWS MORE THAN 500 DERMATOLOGY NURSE PROFESSIONALS PRACTICING IN PRIVATE AND UNIVERSITY-BASED DERMATOLOGY OFFICES. THE MULTI-DAY EVENT PROVIDES EDUCATION, NETWORKING AND INFORMATION FOR THE NURSE PRACTITIONER, RN, LPN/LVN AND MEDICAL ASSISTANT. COUPLED WITH AN EXHIBIT PROGRAM, PARTICIPANTS ARE AFFORDED BASIC AS WELL AS SPECIALIZED PROGRAMMING ON TOPICS AND ISSUES SPECIFIC TO DERMATOLOGY NURSING INCLUDING ASSESSMENT, TREATMENT, AND MANAGEMENT OF A WIDE-RANGE OF DERMATOLOGIC CONDITIONS.NOTE: 2021 CONVENTION WAS HELD VIRTUALLY DUE TO COVID.
EDUCATION AND WORKSHOPS -[1] DNA FUNDAMENTALS IN PHOTOTHERAPY WORKSHOP - THIS SPECIAL PHOTOTHERAPY PROGRAM WAS DEVELOPED BY DNA IN TRIBUTE TO JOAN SHELK, DNA PAST PRESIDENT AND THE DEVELOPER OF DNA'S FIRST WORKSHOP. THE WORKSHOP IS AN INTENSIVE ONE-DAY TRAINING FOR THOSE ADMINISTERING LIGHT THERAPY UNDER A DOCTOR'S SUPERVISION. THE WORKSHOP COVERS PSORIASIS AND OTHER PHOTO-RESPONSIVE SKIN DISEASES, SUCH AS PUVA, NARROW AND BROAD BAND UVB THERAPY, EQUIPMENT OPERATION AND METERING, AND OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES ASSOCIATED WITH PHOTOTHERAPY ADMINISTRATION. THIS WORKSHOP IS OFFERED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE DNA ANNUAL CONVENTION AND AS A PRIVATE WORKSHOP AS REQUESTED.
