CONSERVATION & CURATORIAL- COUPLED WITH REGULAR COLLECTION ASSESSMENT, MONITORING, CONSERVATION, AND STORAGE MAINTENANCE, DURING FY22 MHHM CONTINUED TO ORGANIZE AND REHOUSE COLLECTIONS STORAGE IN ACCORDANCE WITH PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS AND CONSERVE THE THOMAS NAST CARICATURAMAS FOR PERMANENT PUBLIC DISPLAY.
EXHIBITS & RESEARCH- DURING FY22 MHHM PRESENTED THOMAS NAST ILLUSTRATES ARABIAN NIGHTS AND THOMAS NAST'S CHRISTMAS ILLUSTRATIONS (DECEMBER 2021- JANUARY 2022).
EDUCATION & PROGRAMS- YOUTH EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING, DEVELOPED ACCORDING TO NEW JERSEY STATE CURRICULAR STANDARDS, ENGAGED STUDENTS, SCOUTS, CHILDREN, FAMILIES, AND TEACHERS WITH LOCAL, STATE AND NATIONAL HISTORY. HIGHLIGHTS INCLUDED DIG IT! PLANT IT! EAT IT!, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL BILINGUAL VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL, HOMELESS SOLUTIONS INC., AND PRIDE, AN AFFILIATE OF ECLC IN CHATHAM, CHILDREN ON THE GREEN, THE BANYAN SCHOOL, NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSE, AND THE SALVATION ARMY CHILD CARE CENTER. MHHM TRAINED 5 INTERNS FROM COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES INCLUDING RAMAPO, UNIVERSITY OF SAINT ELIZABETH, NOTRE DAME, JOHN'S HOPKINS AND QUINNIPIAC.
HISTORIC SITE PRESERVATION- MHHM COMPLETED REHABILITATION OF FOUR OF THE WINDOWS IN THE SCHOOLROOM GALLERY AND PAINTED SELECT AREAS OF THE INTERIOR AND EXTERIOR OF THE BUILDING. THESE PROJECTS WERE COMPLETED IN COMPLIANCE WITH FEDERAL AND STATE HISTORIC PRESERVATION STANDARDS. MHHM INSTALLED A GAS-FED GENERATOR TO PROTECT AND SECURE THE BUILDING DURING POWER OUTAGES
