PROMOTION OF PROGRAMS TO REDUCE EXPOSURE TO SECONDHAND SMOKE.
PROMOTION OF PROGRAMS TO TREAT NICOTINE ADDICTION. RESEARCH PROJECTS PERTAINING TO SMOKING, TREATMENT AND ADDICTION
CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE STUDENTS WORKING AGAINST TOBACCO PROGRAMS (SWAT). A YOUTH ADVOCACY AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FOCUSED ON THE MARKETING TACTICS OF THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY. THE PROGRAM IS DRIVEN BY YOUTH UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF ADULTS. IN 2023 THERE WERE 16 ACTIVE CLUBS WITH ABOUT 320 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS. THE CLUBS HAVE BEEN WORKING TO GET LOCAL TOBACCO CONTROL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS PASSED.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS DIRECTED TO CHILDREN TO IMPROVE AWARENESS OF TOBACCO USE WITH THE GOAL OF PREVENTING THE INITIATION OF USE. PRESENTED PROGRAMS TO APPROXIMATELY 2,500 CHILDREN DURING 2023.
