PROMOTION OF PROGRAMS TO REDUCE EXPOSURE TO SECONDHAND SMOKE.
CREATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE STUDENTS WORKING AGAINST TOBACCO PROGRAMS (SWAT). A YOUTH ADVOCACY AND YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM FOCUSED ON THE MARKETING TACTICS OF THE TOBACCO INDUSTRY. THE PROGRAM IS DRIVEN BY YOUTH UNDER THE GUIDANCE OF ADULTS. IN 2020 THERE WERE 37 ACTIVE CLUBS WITH ABOUT 550 YOUTH PARTICIPANTS. THE CLUBS HAVE BEEN WORKING TO GET LOCAL TOBACCO CONTROL ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS PASSED.
EDUCATION PROGRAMS DIRECTED TO CHILDREN TO IMPROVE AWARENESS OF TOBACCO USE WITH THE GOAL OF PREVENTING THE INITIATION OF USE. PRESENTED PROGRAMS TO APPROXIMATELY 2,000 CHILDREN DURING 2020.
