TO IMPLEMENT THE PROVISIONS OF FLORIDA'S HEALTHY START LEGISLATION WITHIN PALM BEACH COUNTY. IT IS THE INTENT OF THE HEALTHY START LEGISLATION TO ESTABLISH A SYSTEM OF CARE THAT ENSURES THAT PREGNANT WOMEN HAVE ACCESS TO PRENATAL CARE AND THAT PROMOTES THE HEALTHY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT OF INFANTS AND YOUNG CHILDREN AGES BIRTH TO THREE.

BASE PROGRAM - ADDRESSES THE HEALTH AND WRAP-AROUND SERVICE NEEDS OF PREGNANT WOMEN, INTERCONCEPTION WOMEN AND CHILDREN FROM BIRTH TO AGE THREE AT RISK FOR POOR BIRTH OR HEALTH OUTCOMES, PROMOTES HEALTHY PREGNANCIES AND IMPROVED BIRTH OUTCOMES WHICH LEAD TO NORMAL GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT
MEDICAID WAIVER - OUTREACH ACTIVITIES TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY START SCREENING AND ASSIST IN ASSURING THE ELIGIBLE WOMEN AND CHILDREN BIRTH TO AGE THREE HAVE ACCESS TO NEEDED HEALTH AND SUPPORT SERVICES AT AN INCREASED LEVEL OF INTENSITY AND DURATION.
