NCWEDD BRINGS TOGETHER THE PRIVATE AND PUBLIC SECTORS IN PARTNERSHIP TO PROVIDE A COORDINATED STRATEGY AND ONGOING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN THE REGION. THIS INCLUDED HOSTING INDUSTRY CONVENINGS, MANAGING A REGIONAL PARTNERSHIP WITH THE THOMPSON OKANOGAN TOURISM ASSOCIATION FOR THE ROUTE 97 ROAD TRIP TOURING PROGRAM, IDENTIFYING AND SUPPORTING REIGIONAL PRIORITY PROJECTS AND CONVENING BOARD MEMBERS AT MONTHLY MEETINGS AND THE ANNUAL PLANNING RETREAT.
PLUG-IN NCW ENGAGED IN PUBLIC EDUCATION AND OUTREACH ABOUT ELECTRIC VEHICLES ADOPTION, EV TOURISM, AND THE GROWING NEED FOR CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION TRAINING FOR EV MAINTENANCE. THEY HOSTED INTERACTIVE DISPLAYS AND TEST DRIVES AT CHELAN AND LEAVENWORTH EARTH DAY FAIRS, AND BEGAN PRODUCTION OF A VIDEO ABOUT THEIR 2017 CHARGE ACROSS WASHINGTON DEMONSTARTION DRIVE ACROSS HIGHWAY 2.
THE NCWEDD WAS A CRITICAL PARTNER IN THE SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF THE NCW STARTUP 365 GRANT, A STATE-FUNDED INITIATIVE THAT SUPPORTS THE DEVELOPMENT AND LAUNCH OF SMALL BUSINESSES ACROSS NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON.
TOTAL AND CHELAN DOUGLAS TRENDS. WE SUPPORTED REGIONAL TOURISM INDUSTRY DEVELOPMENT THROUGH OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH THE THOMPSON OKANOGAN TOURISM ASSOCIATION. WE CONTINUED TO INSURE REGIONAL ACCESS TO THE CHELAN DOUGLAS TRENDS COMMUNINTY INDICATORS PLATFORM. WE HOSTED THE 4TH ANNUAL NCW REGIONAL ECOMOMIC FORUM TO HIGHLIGHT EXAMPLES OF INNOVATION AND EFFECTIVE PARTNERSHIPS THAT ARE SOLVING CHALLENGES THAT IMPACT THE REGIONAL ECOMONIC OUTCOMES. WE HAVE LAUNCHED THE SUPERNOVA BUSINESS LAUNCH COMPETITION TO HELP CREATE AND EXPAND SMALL BUSINESSES THROUGOUT NORTH CENTRAL WASHINGTON WITH A FOCUS ON BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT AND SOCIAL DETERMINANTS OF HEALTH.
