ACE CONTINUES ITS SUPPORT OF THE TEACHER TRAINING PROGRAM, WHICH WAS INITIATED IN 2018 IN COLLABORATION WITH ZETA PHI BETA SORORITY INCORPORATED, ALPHA ALPHA LAMBDA ZETA CHAPTER (ZETA), KAKATA TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE (KRTTI), AND LIBERIA COMMUNITY NETWORK (LCN). IN 2021, THE MONTHLY TUTORIALS FOR 85 TEACHERS STAYED FOCUS ON THE BUILDING OF REMEDIAL SKILLS TO PREPARE PARTICIPANTS FOR THE C LEVEL CERTIFICATION EXAM REQUIRED FOR PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS: 70% OF THE TRAINING WAS ON CONTENT MATH, SCIENCE, PHONICS, LITERACY, GRAMMAR, AND VOCABULARY. 30% OF THE TRAINING WAS PEDAGOGY, TEACHING AID, CHILD DEVELOPMENT, VALUES, CHANGE, CIVIC ENGAGEMENT, COGNITIVE LEARNING, HEALTH, SEX EDUCATION INCLUDING HIV WHICH IS NOW PANDEMIC IN LIBERIA. DUE TO COVID-19 PANDEMIC RESTRICTIONS, THE SUMMER INTENSIVE TRAINING WAS HELD IN OCTOBER AND PRESENTED AT 2 SITES FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING. THE TEACHERS WERE ALSO ENGAGED IN A COMMUNITY HOME SCHOOLING AND LITERACY PROGRAM.
ACE CONTINUES ITS ANNUAL SUPPORT OF ANN SANDELL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL (A LOW-INCOME, COMMUNITY-BASED PRIMARY SCHOOL) FOR SPECIALTY TEACHERS, AND FOR INSTRUCTIONAL SUPPLIES.
ACE ALSO COLLABORATES WITH LEARNING SQUARED LIBERIA IN SUPPORT OF MICRO LENDING FOR PARENTS OF STUDENTS ON SCHOLARSHIPS TO HELP INCREASE FINANCIAL STABILITY OF FAMILIES.
